Yakuno Basalt Rock Park
The Yakuno Basalt Rock Park is in an area created by lava that flowed from the eruption of Kyoto Prefecture's only volcano, Hozan, some 300,000 years ago.
The lava is like natural art.
Walking paths and a cottage (azumaya) have been made to make it easy to view the lava.
The illumination at night is fantastic and highly recommended.
