Arafune Cold Storage

Arafune Cold Storage is a silkworm preservation facility that was originally established in 1905 by a local silkworm farmer named Seitaro Niwaya.
It used a type of cold air ventilation technology that was developed in Nagano Prefecture and became the largest facility of its kind in Japan, eventually expanding its ventures across the entire country.
This historic site offers a rare opportunity to experience the same cold environment just the same as it was when it was still in operation.
Additionally, they also opened a special exhibit for visitors to get a direct firsthand experience of the facility's cold air ventilation.
