Remains of the Tamba Kokubun-ji Temple

Excavation research conducted from 1982 to 1986 confirmed the size of temple buildings and the layout of major buildings.
There remain 17 foundation stones at the site of the pagoda.
The site of the lecture hall overlaps the present hall. The main hall, temple gate, and bell tower, all of which remain today, were reconstructed during a period of nine years from 1774.
At present, the temple sites are designated as a national site.
In the precinct, there are the towering ginkgo tree with seed-bearing leaves, which is designated by Kameoka City as an old tree of historical interest, and the trumpet ginkgo tree.
