Tagesan Fudouson

Founded in 822, Tagesan Fudoson is an old temple that flourished as a place where the Utsunomiya family prayed over many generations.
It is a temple worshipping Fudoson (the Buddhist deity Acala) for protection from fire and prosperous business.
The natural forest surrounding the temple’s main hall is one of the natural monuments of this city.
The entire mountain by which the temple stands used to be a medieval hill castle.
