Fuji Omuro Sengen-jinja Shrine

This is the oldest shrine on Mt. Fuji, which is said to have been founded in 699.
The precincts of the shrine are made up of both an inner shrine (in the mountains) and a local shrine (in town), and the main shrine was originally located in the inner shrine (the second station on Mt. Fuji).
After undergoing four major renovations, the main shrine was moved to the local shrine (current location) in 1973 and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property.
