Stone-made Koshinto Tower
A Koshinto tower is a stone pagoda built based on the faith in Koshin derived from Taoism.
There were cases where the towers were built on village boundaries as a guidepost or Doso-jin (traveler's guardian deity).
There remain many Koshinto towers in Mitaka City. Those built in the precincts of Tenjinsha Shrine in Shinkawa and in Nakahara 4-chome are registered as cultural properties of Mitaka City.
