Genpi-an

Genpi-an is a hermitage along the Yamanobe-no-michi road. Its stone-paved path and white outer walls give a distinctive impression to visitors.
It was the training place of Genpinsozu, a high priest of the early Heian period (794–1185).
Genpi-an is also known as the place where “Miwa”, a Noh script believed to have been written by Zeami, takes place.
