Abe Monjuin Temple

Abemonjuin Temple was built in 645.
It is counted as one of Japan’s Three Monju Temples, alongside the Kireto Monju in Kyoto and the Kameoka Monju in Yamagata.
Abemonjuin’s principal image is Japan’s tallest (seven meters) statue of Monju Bosatsu (Manjushri) built during the Kamakura period by Kaikei, a sculptor of Buddhist images.
Known as a temple of wisdom and insight, Abemonjuin is a temple to which many students preparing for their entrance exams pay devotional visits.
