Hashihaka Burial Mound

The oldest of all tomb mounds in Japan exceeding 200m in length, Hashihaka Kofun is thought to have been the model for all large, keyhole-form tomb mounds in Japan.
Because this tomb is estimated to have been built during the second half of the third century, some speculate that it belongs to Himiko, the shaman-queen of the Yamatai-koku realm.
