Tokugawa Ieyasu’s Final Encampment
This is the place where Ieyasu Tokugawa, general of the eastern army, set up his camp to raise the morale of his troops during the battle of Sekigahara, the largest and most important battle in Japanese feudal history.
Tokugawa’s victory led to the establishment of the Tokugawa shogunate, Edo bakufu (1603-1868).
