Hayataro Hot Springs

The Hayataro hot springs are located on Komagane-kogen highlands, which are skirt hills of the Central Alps.
These hot springs are associated with the legend of Hayataro, a dog that fought an evil monster, who is worshipped at Kozen-ji temple, a Tendai-sect temple that is the most popular among the many Buddhist prayer places in southern Nagano.
These hot springs are sometimes called the “hot springs for beautiful skin.”
The water is colorless, clear, odorless, and many women have testified to its effectiveness in making their skin feel moist and smooth.
Another key attraction is the views from the outdoor baths, which command magnificent scenery of the Central Alps in each season.
