Oyakuen (“medicine garden”)
Oyakuen (“medicine garden”) was used as a villa by the lords of Aizu domain.
Its name derived from the fact that Aizu domain’s second lord Hoshina Masatsune planted medicinal plants here.
It is a nationally designated place of scenic beauty.
About four hundred types of medicinal plants are still grown here today.
