Yama no Rekishikan History Museum

The building was built on February 7, 1900, on the site of the former honjin in Tsumago-juku as a government building of Tsumago Local Office of Nagoya Branch of the Imperial Property Department, which oversaw the entire region of the south part of Kiso.
It was used until 1933 for that purpose.
Due to aging, it was sold to a person who was interested in it and was used as a private residence until 1986. Then, it was donated to Nagiso Town and was rebuilt at the current place in 1990.
The museum exhibits the materials on the history of the mountains and the forest policy in Kiso Valley.
