Anasawa-Tenjinsha Shrine

Anasawa-Tenjinsha Shrine is the oldest shrine in the city and considered one of the shrines listed in Engishiki Jinmyocho.
At its annual festival held in late August every year, the shrine hosts traditional performances, such as Edo no Satokagura (nationality-designated important folk-culture asset) and Lion Dance (City-designated cultural asset).
At the shrine is a fudezuka monument honoring the achievements of Harada Kinryō, who was a calligrapher during the late Edo period(1603-1868).
The shrine’s spring water has been selected as one of “The 57 Famous Springs of Tokyo” and is used as goshinsui (sacred water).
