Muikara Kominka Park

In the park, there are traditional private houses that were left intact in Komae City: a former Arai family’s residential main building and a former Takagi family’s Nagaya-mon gate, both of which have been moved and restored here.
The former Arai family’s residential main building is a farmhouse with thatched roofs built at the end of the 18th century.
Built in 1859 in the residence of a village headman, the former Takagi family’s Nagaya-mon gate is a gate on both sides of which there is a room.
The two buildings are designated as cultural assets of Komae City.
Utilizing these old private houses, projects and exhibitions are held concerning the regional history, folklore, and traditional culture, and so on.
