Joufukuji Temple is called the starting point of the Mt.Koya pilgrimage Kuroko-michi route.
In the precinct of the temple is a nine-storey pagoda built in the Kamakura period.
The sedentary statue Amitabha, - the principal object of worship - is said to be of the 10th-11th century of the Heian period.
