Mejiro Fudo Ganshoji Temple

The Mejiro Fudo Ganshoji temple is located on the hill of Fushimido in the southern part of Tondabayashi City and is popularly known as "a temple surrounded by plum blossoms and handmade by believers". The temple is the head temple of Hassho Kengaku Shinshukyo, a new religion affiliated with the Shingon sect of Buddhism. The principal image of the temple is said to have been carved from an 800-year-old camphor tree using a single sword. The temple precincts are located on a hill overlooking Tondabayashi City, offering a beautiful view, and the plum blossoms planted around the main hall make the precincts look beautiful, making it a famous place for plum blossoms. In November 2011, the only wooden five-storey pagoda in Osaka Prefecture was completed.
