Tonokori Castle Ruins

Tonokori Castle Ruins are a mountain castle located in the highlands at an altitude of 100 meters.
The castle was built during the period of the Northern and Southern Courts as a fortress by Sukemochi Ito, who relocated to the Tonokori area by order of Takauji Ashikaga.
It is also called “Ukifune-jo” as the castle looks like a floating ship during the rainy season when it is profiled against a thick mist rising over the Sanzai River running below.
