Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse

Designed by a foreign engineer and build in 1905, “Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse (two buildings in the south part of the Kanegasaki greenery area)” was used to reserve petroleum in those times.
The warehouse adopts the roof truss structure that doesn’t require any pillar so that the wide-open space can be created inside. In January 2009, the buildings were registered as national tangible cultural properties, and symbolize the history of the port town Tsuruga.
In October 2015, the warehouse was refurbished and was opened as a commercial facility that has harbor view, dioramas, and restaurants.
