Azusamitenjinja Shrine
Azusamitenjinja is a prestigious shrine built in 1629.
Once, the jazz pianist Yosuke Yamashita (“ambassador” of Tachikawa) prayed at this shrine for the return of his cat that had gone missing. The cat returned the following day.
Since then, this shrine has been a famous shrine to pray for the return of lost cats.
There is a charming statue of a cat.
