Myokanji Temple

Reishozan Myokanji Temple (Myoshinji school of Rinzai sect) was founded by Bimyo Daishi, the 2nd head priest of Daihonzan Myoshinji Temple, in the Nanbokucho period (1336-1392).
In 1570, the temple was burned down by Nobunaga Oda. Around 1660, however, it was rebuilt by Gudo Kokushi.
In 1913, the imperial donation was granted by the Imperial Household Ministry to refurbish the pagoda of Bimyo Daishi.
