Former KINOSHITA Family Residence

The Former KINOSHITA Family residence was built in a modern style of the Taisho period (1912-1926), and it has been nicknamed by locals as “Sankaku-yashiki” (“triangle house”)..
The house was built using the “two-by-four” construction method that trended at the time, and it is considered the oldest of such houses that were built using material produced in Japan rather than imported..
In 2012, the house became a “nationally-registered tangible cultural property” and designated a “structure of landscape importance” of this town as per the Landscape Act. Today, it is used as Oiso Geihinkan, an Italian restaurant.
