Fujino Genkuro Memorial Hall
This memorial hall is dedicated to Genkuro Fujino, the esteemed mentor of the father of modern Chinese literature, Lu Xun.
Born in Awara, Fujino was a professor at a local medical school. In his aspirations to study medical science, Lu Xun travelled to Japan, where Fujino would enthusiastically offer him guidance.
Lu Xun was so inspired by his teachings that he revered Fujino-sensei as his "lifelong mentor'.
The exhibit room has on display a number of Fujino's former belongings, including books, medical instruments, and letters.
