Noshima Castle Remains

Noshima Castle Remains still exist today on Noshima Island, an island with a circumference of 720 meters in waters off the coast of Oshima Island.
The remains are the sites of the residence of the Murakami clan of the Noshima Navy, which held great power and influence in the Seto Island Sea while using this island as their base.
The remains are recognized as the national historic sites today.
Between Oshima Island and Taisakijima Island, there are reefs on which the remains of a big pier can be seen.
At low tide, it is possible to see a countless number of round holes for pillars of the dock.
The island once played an army base-like role for the Mishima Navy and was the center of the government.
