This office was re-built in 2006 as a "Base for Disaster Prevention," "Citizen Convenience," and "Utilizing Timber from the Town and the Environment."
It has a remarkable exterior — featuring a mosaic of panels made of "sugi," Japanese cedar.
It is a cultural exchange base that serves as a community space. The atrium on the first floor houses the "Sado," or Japanese Tea Ceremony, a tradition of hospitality that continues from the olden days in Yusuhara.
