Hiraizumi History Museum

The Hiraizumi History Museum is dedicated to the history of Hiraizumi as a Golden Buddhist Capital in the Heian period (794-1185) and as a Sendai domain during the Date clan in the Edo period (1603-1868).
The museum displays many valuable cultural assets, including models of Motsu-ji and Muryoko-in, which have been restored based on academic research, excavated materials and drawings, mainly from the 100 years of the prosperity of the Oshu Fujiwara clan.
