Higashimurayama Central Park

This is a metropolitan park that opened in 1988 (Showa 63) with the aim of preserving and regenerating the nature of the Musashi Plain.
In the center of the park, there is a beautifully maintained large grassy multipurpose open space surrounded by an excursion course, which are bustling with families and people who come to exercise.
There are bright forests of Japanese red pine, konara oak, and other trees on the east side, a bird sanctuary on the west side, and there are also bird-watching spaces. In addition, there are open spaces with playground equipment, spiral ponds, gateball fields, etc.
When the park was opened, trees were planted by citizens, and small Higan cherries that can be enjoyed in bloom, fragrant lavender flowerbeds, and small chrysanthemum flowerbeds that turn into many colors when they bloom in autumn are maintained by volunteer activities and are still loved by local people.
In addition to Higashimurayama Central Park, the adjacent Tamako Bicycle Pedestrian Road and the nearest station, Yasaka Station, are also the setting for the anime “Wasteful Days of High School Girls,” based on an original work by Bino, and there are people who go on a pilgrimage there.
