Inukai Man-yo Memorial Hall

Takashi Inukai was the leading researcher of the Manyoshu. He advocated for the study of its topography and spent his life traveling to places where the poems were composed.
The Inukai Manyo Memorial Hall is an establishment for disseminating knowledge of the Manyoshu through “Inukai-bushi,” a unique recitation of the Manyoshu, as well for honoring the achievements of Inukai, who loved and endeavored to preserve Asuka, the birthplace of history and Manyo.
Scrolls, footage, and recordings by Inukai are on exhibit in the hall, which can also be used for meetings, gatherings, exhibitions, mini concerts, and a variety of other occasions.
Also available is the on-site Tsubaichi Cafe, which serves original light meals and tea.
The cafe has an open terrace, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful respite in the midst of the season’s beauty.
