Kakushoji Temple
Kakushoji Temple is a historical temple of the Honganji sect of Jodo Shinshu ("True Pure Land") School of Buddhism.
The tomb of Shigeru Mizuki is in the cemetery behind the main temple building. Many of his fans from all over the country come to visit it.
The tomb, which Mr. Mizuki himself designed during his lifetime, is surrounded by reliefs, from which yokai ("spirit-monsters") are carved. Kitaro and Nezumi-Otoko are placed upon the gateposts, and it looks as if they are protecting the tomb.
There is also a picture of the Niga-Byakudo ("Two Rivers and the White Path") parable, drawn by Mr. Mizuki.
