Mount Shokanbetsu

Mt. Shokanbetsu, the highest peak in the Mashike Mountains, is 1,492 meters high.
There are two climbing routes from the Mashike side, the Shokan route, and the Hashibetsu route.
From the Uryu side, there is one traverse route.
Because Mt. Shokanbetsu is in a heavy snowfall area, many climbers enjoy spring mountain skiing during the consecutive holidays in April and May, and the remaining snow glistens white until mid-July.
On a clear day, you can see Mt. Yotei, Mt. Daisetsu, Mt. Rishiri, and the Shakotan Peninsula from the top of the mountain, and be dazzled by the magnificent view of the Sea of Japan and beautiful mountains.
