Five Hundred Rakan
Five hundred rakan enshrined in Gyokuryuin Temple, which is said to have been founded in the 1500s, are each marked with the name of a bodhisattva.
It is said that each of them has its own unique face, and that all human expressions have been transferred to them.
The statues are the oldest in the prefecture and are said to have been transported from Kyoto.
