Iga Hachimangu Shrine

It's said that Lord Ieyasu always visited this shrine before a major battle, as the guardian deity enshrined within brought the Tokugawa house fortune in war, and ensured the perpetuation of their descendants.
Years later, the third shogun of the house, Tokugawa Iemitsu, extended Iga Hachimangu to enshrine Lord Ieyasu within as the kami 'Tosho Daigongen'.
If you visit in July, you can see the lotuses in bloom on the shrine's pond.
