Ikuno Silver Mine

It is said that the Ikuno Silver Mine was discovered in Daido II, and after passing through the Oda and Toyotomi eras, the Edo shogunate established a " Silver Mine Magistrate''.
The shogunate of the Edo period established a " Silver Mine Magistrate," followed by the establishment of the " Ikuno Magistrate," and eventually the Ikuno Silver Mine reached its peak.
In 1896, the mine was sold to Mitsubishi Limited Partnership and became one of the largest mines in Japan, but it was closed in 1973.
A sightseeing tunnel of about 1 km allows visitors to enjoy the mining conditions using modern technology, the fresh chisel marks on the rock surface, and the remains of silver veins.
The temperature in the mine is about 13 degrees Celsius all year round.
