Shizushi Limestone Cave Park

Inside the cave is between 12℃ and 15℃ all year round, making it chilly with cold air circulating around.
When lit up, the inside makes for a mysterious place and the stairs, which are almost vertical, take you down to a total depth of 25m.
The caves are an important habitat for different types of bats, including the Japanese lesson horseshoe bat.
In the surrounding area, you will find spots to enjoy outdoor activities, cottages and camp sites for accommodation, and fishing spots, too. Many people visit here as a natural cool spot in the height of summer.
It is also a prefecturally-designated natural monument as the only limestone cave in Kyoto Prefecture.
