Shounji Tensokudo Temple (Dementia Containment Temple)

In 874, Imperial Prince Koretaka, first son of Emperor Montoku, broke the imperial line of succession, became a monk, and had this temple built.
Legend says that he changed his name to Ryokaku and went on a pilgrimage around multiple provinces and when visiting this land, he was taught of the secret art of containing cancer by the people of the town, which is why the temple has gathered much belief that it is a cancer containing temple.
The upside-down bowl-shaped mountain opposite is where Ideno Castle used to stand.
It is now where Uji Shrine is located and you can get a full view of Wachi from there.
