Mausoleum of Shotoku-Taishi (Prince Shotoku)

The Mausoleum of Shotoku-Taishi (Prince Shotoku) (574-622) is the tomb of Prince Shotoku, located at the far end of the Eifuku-ji temple grounds. He is buried together with his mother and empress.
It became a sacred place for the worship of Prince Shotoku, and was visited by many high priests, including Kukai and Shinran.
