Handa Red Brick Building

The Handa Red Brick Building was built in 1898 as a manufacturing plant for Kabuto Beer.
It is one of the five largest brick buildings in Japan built in the Meiji era (1868-1912) and one of the few remaining brick breweries in existence.
It is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of the provincial city of Handa, which in the dawn of Japanese beer, boldly challenged the major breweries.
