Enkoji Temple

The Enkoji Temple is the 39th temple on the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage, and the last temple in Kochi Prefecture.
It was founded by Gyoki in 724, the first year of the Kamigame Era.
It was rebuilt by Kobo Daishi in 1226, in the Enreki Era and was designated as the 39th temple.
The temple still has a bronze bell that dates back to the 11th year of Enki, which is said to be the oldest bronze bell in Kochi Prefecture, and is designated as an important cultural property of Japan.
