Hakkeizan Rengeji Temple

The temple was built in 704 (Keiun 1), more than 1,300 years ago, and is known as the oldest temple in Mori Town.
In its heyday, there were as many as 36 monk’s cells, with an attached priest in Ichimiya.
The temple is home to many valuable cultural assets, including a Jizo statue worshiped for easy childbirth, a masterpiece from the last years of Mokujiki Gogyon Shonin.
The temple is also known as Bush-clover Temple because of the many bush clovers that grow in the temple precincts.
