Iidasan Soshinji Temple

The precincts of Soshinji temple are called the Old Castle and are believed to be an older structure than the Main Castle south of the temple.
In 1401 (Oei 8), the priest Jochu Tengin, a great leader of Soto Zen in the Tokai area, opened Soshinji Temple here, ten years before the founding of Kikkokuzan Daitoin, with external support on the part of Michiyoshi Yamauchi, lord of Iida Castle.
