Ogijima Island

Ogijima Island is located about 40 minutes by ferry from Takamatsu Port, via Megijima Island.
There isn't much flat surface, so the village is built step-wise.
It is very distinctive that from the sea, the buildings overlap like scales.
At the northernmost point, there is granite lighthouse built in 1895, which has been selected as one of the "50 Best Lighthouses in Japan", and still watches over safety at sea.
From late January to early March every year, about eleven million daffodils flower in the fields spread out on the surrounding promenade.
Art works are also scattered around the island, so it's a great place to walk and take a leisurely stroll.
