Ajirojima Island

At low tide, Amishirojima Island is connected to land by a sandy path, and is a rare island where chert (sedimentary rock) dating back 240 million years can be seen on the surface.
The strata change hues from black, green, purple, and red, and the sight tells the story of the ancient history of the earth.
In addition, fragments of ancient shooting stars, or "cosmic dust," have been discovered in the strata, and the mysteries of the unknown universe lie dormant here.
