Yamaage Kaikan
Inside the building, you will find a room with displays of materials related to the "Karasuyama's Yamaage Matsuri Festival", which are an important intangible folk culture asset of the country and was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in December 2016.
There is also a large hall that regularly displays the three festival floats used for the Yamaage Matsuri festival.It leads to a corner that reenacts the festival in 8 minutes using a large screen and miniatures which are 1/5 of the size of the real thing.
Here a human-like robot (Grandpa Kansuke) gives a narration in the local dialect.
Moreover, there local specialties are available in the product corner, which is convenient for finding souvenirs.
During spring, you can enjoy flower viewing as there are lots of cherry blossoms in full bloom in the west-side park of Yamaage Kaikan.
