Former Residence of the Toshima Family

This samurai home and garden were built in 1828 as a retreat for the Toshima family.
The site was also used as a tearoom by the local feudal lord. The building has been designated by Fukuoka Prefecture as a Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property and the garden is a National Site of Scenic Beauty.
