Sakura Juntendo Memorial Building

Sakura Juntendo is an Western-style medical school and clinic where Taizen Sato, a Western-style doctor who was invited by Lord Hotta Masayoshi of the Sakura domain to move to Sakura in 1843 (Tenpo 14), provided treatment and medical education using Western medicine.
Part of the building erected in 1808 (Ansei 5) remains and the memorial hall displays medical books and instruments used at the time in Juntendo.
