Chofu Mori Residence

The residence was built by Mori Mototoshi, the 14th lord of the Chofu Mori family, and was completed in 1903.
Before the completion, the residence was also used as the temporary palace of the Meiji Emperor.
The Chisen Kaiyu style garden makes the visitors remember the past fondly, and wildflowers placed throughout the main wing of the house are comforting to the mind.
There is also a hot tea service so visitors can take a break looking at the garden.

About 23 minutes by bus from JR Shimonoseki Station, getting off at the stop, “Jokamachi Chofu,” 10 minutes on foot

Primary and junior high school students: 100 yen
Persons 65 years old or older who are living in the city or Kita-Kyushu City (including one accompanying person): 100 yen

Parking: *There is a toll parking lot (200 yen for half a day) nearby. It is convenient to park at the Chofu Tourist Hall parking (50 spaces) if you are exploring the area.
