Kouya River

Kouya River, which flows into Takahashi River, once served as the outer moat of Bitchu Matsuyama Castle.

The road running by the river is lined with beautiful cherry blossoms and willow trees. It is highly atmospheric, with Takahashi Christ Church, the oldest church in Okayama Prefecture, and the remains of a school that was once run by the feudal domain.
Selected as one of the 100 Best Roads in Japan, it is bustling with tourists in the springtime.
