Yamakoshi Orataru
The Yamakoshi Reconstruction Exchange Center Orataru is a starting point made to look like a field museum of Yamakoshi, and also functions as a base for exchange between visitors and local residents.
This facility is for sharing the experiences of the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake, the testimonies of local residents, reconstruction experience activities, and sharing the feelings of gratitude for support, along with the charms of Yamakoshi, with the rest of Japan.
"Orataru" means "our place" in the dialect of the Yamakoshi region.
