Takaoka Manyo Historical Museum

Located near the site of the national government office where Otomo no Yakamochi administered affairs, this facility specializes in exhibits on the theme of the Man'yoshu, the collection of Japanese poems that served as the basis for the imperial era name Reiwa.
There is also a garden planted with flowers and trees related to the Man'yoshu.
It is a center for the study of Man'yoshu, with a wealth of materials.
