Sendo Tumulus
One of the ancient burial grounds in the amidagamine hills.
A rare find in Kyushu, here a shield bearing clay soldier figure was unearthed, practically perfectly preserved in an important decorated tomb dating from the sixth century.
In the surrounding Sendo Kofun park, there is a lifesize replica of a stone hut and a restored ancient grave mound.
Here you can see the clay figures, and in the autumn we open the decorated tomb to the public.
